I provide accessible, standards compliant signage and graphic design.
I can help you meet your obligations under the Equality Act, Vulnerable Witnesses Act, Adults with Incapacity Act and policies such as “Fair for All” and “Equally Well”.
My symbols design work compliments BS8501:2002 “Public information and Graphical Signs” by including symbols designed and assessed to be effective for improving access to health services, including outpatient clinics and surgeries, further education colleges and day services for adults with learning disabilities.
Some examples of signs I have designed to standards set out by the Joint Mobility Unit in their “Sign Design Guide” incorporating symbols from BSI (guide dogs, reception and access) and BSS (first aid, nurse and toilet). Catalogues of sign designs for various types of buildings and services are available.
The City of Edinburgh Council has removed restrictions on the free distribution of Bonnington Symbol System.
I can produce resources using BSS symbols and update existing BSS resources on a freelance basis.
